The San Bernardino County Commission has developed a county wide model of care and collaboration known as SART (Screening, Assessment, Referral and Treatment). The mission of this public/private partnership is to ensure that children and their families living in the County of San Bernardino receive a comprehensive continuum of services to ensure that children are raised in a safe and nuturing home and children and families achieve optimal health and development. Due to the County's large geographic size, the San Bernardino County SART Model requires at least four Children's SART Assessment Centers and many supporting partners. Children identified as needing treatment are referred to on-going psychotherapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and/or speech and language therapy. Currently over 3,969 children have received services within our model of care.
